The Lancashire Steam Heritage Festival is a collaborative event between the Lancashire Traction Engine Club and the Lancashire Mining Museum at Astley Green.

The first event took place in 2018 and was a huge success.

The fifth event is now being planned and will take place on 18th & 19th May 2024. 

Gates open at 10:00am

• Meet the owners of the full size steam engines

• Enjoy the collection of miniature steam

• Reminisce with the vintage tractors and cars

• Get up close to the iconic last surviving pithead in Lancashire

• See the 3,300hp winding engine running

• Visit the reproduction Miner's cottage

• Ride the mine train (above ground)

• Stop and listen to the evocative fair organ or the highly entertaining Ukulele Orchestra

• Treat your children to a ride on the traditional juvenile fair

• See Fred Dibnah's garden pithead gear alongside his iconic land-rover
